March 6th Church Council Meeting 7:30 p.m.
 
Women of the Evangelical  Lutheran Church of America.
We have an active Lutheran Women's group that meets monthly;
focusing on support, concerns and interests of the women of the 
church.
They do an annual cookie pack for the local jails at Christmas and 
Food baskets for the needy at Thanksgiving.               
 
WELCA is a fun and enriching women's group.  Morning & evening
groups meet monthly during the year separately and three times a
year in a combined general meeting.  Please plan to join the women
of the church for an evening of fun and fellowship.
Babysitting is provided. 
 
 
 
WELCA Anniversay Celebration
The Women of the Church celebrated their 50th
Anniversary on Saturday, November 19, 2007.
with a luncheon at the Lubo's Wine & Cheeze Bistro.

51ST ANNIVERSARY ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 21, 2007. 
   
   
Senior Member Group
There is a lively Senior Member Group that meets for fellowship
and a variety of programs that help support the congregation.
The Group meets the second Wednesday of every month at
around 10:30 a.m.  Each month there is a topic with a guest
speaker followed by lunch.  Everyone is welcome.
This group does not meet during the summer months.
 
 
LUTHERAN WORLD  RELIEF
Women of the Church meet once a month to make quilts,
school kits and hygiene kits for the world mission.
They meet on first Wednesday of every month.  All are
welcome.  Please join the ladies of the church as they need
volunteers.
This group does not meet during the summer months.
 
 
MENS GROUP
There is also a men's group that meets monthly for breakfast
and fellowship.
 
 
FOOD PANTRY
Once every six weeks, OSLC feeds the local community in need
of  food through the Social Services of Hampton Roads. 
Georgr Long heads up this community service with the help
of Basil Charleton.
 
OSLC  feeds the homeless every two months through the 
the local churches in connection with the city of Virginia Beach.
 
 
OSLC also participates in the local community blood drive
quarterly.
